MCT WELLNESS CREATED FOR CHILDREN’S PHYSICAL THERAPY
More than 6.5 million children require motion therapy in the US. These include children with PT/mobility needs, neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and cerebral palsy, and those who have experienced physical or emotional trauma.
It’s not easy to provide consistent care for children with these conditions. Physical therapies are long term daily commitments for everyone involved.
We want movement therapy to be fun for kids and easier for parents and physical/occupational therapists. Our studies have found that entertaining at-home tools paired with motion capture technologies lead to better success at keeping kids engaged with their therapies over time.
A SMART CLOSED-LOOP SYSTEM
Our MCT Wellness mobile application uses our proprietary motion capture technology to track body movements and the body’s improvement potential. Our characters and activities keep kids engaged and give their physical therapists and parents a way to track their improvement over time. Our Artificial Intelligence creates improvement metrics based on individual ability, instead of comparison to a standardized body. We chose mobile for accessibility, but we’ve also developed prototypes in Virtual Reality.

MCT Wellness, as a therapeutic tool, focuses on inconsistent child engagement, the lack of at-home resources, and the difficulties integrating new technologies into physical therapies. For kids with movement disabilities, physical therapy practice can be difficult to perform every day; it may be uncomfortable to simply boring. Parents may struggle to help their children perform their therapy exercises appropriately at home but may have difficulty getting to therapist offices consistently. Physical therapists have no reliable way to track progress once their patient leaves their offices. MCT Wellness steps in to solve these issues.
Beyond therapies, we realized that any body can benefit from tracking their movement and performing therapeutic exercises to maintain their wellness. That’s why we also have built a gamified way for any body to enjoy moving with our app!
